In Sync. Music Data Visualisations
Often music visualisations focus on a very thin time segment and are basically vibrating wave forms at different frequencies. The aim here was to try and zoom out a bit and explore the wider structure of the music and if possible the semantic or emotional content within.
We took one piece of music and tried to extract as much data as possible via Python and then visualised it with Houdini. This represents the first step and it feels like a lot more R&D will be necessary to really see how useful this data is and how it can be applied.
